Compliance and Medical Necessity

Pinkus Dermatopathology Laboratory has adopted and implemented a comprehensive Compliance Program that enforces internal controls that promote adherence to applicable federal and state law and the program requirements of federal, state, and private health plans. Through these formal programs, we are showing our commitment to the compliance process. We also remind all clients that they oo are responsible by law to enforce and abide by rules and regulations relating to compliance regulations.

CPT Coding

CPT coding references provided by Pinkus Dermatopathology Laboratory on your pathology report are provided only as guidance to assist you in billing. We have a fully-staffed Billing Department onsite that reviews all CPT code assignments before claims are submitted for payment. It may happen, that an incorrect CPT code is chosen by a non-Medical Biller. Pinkus Dermatopathology Laboratory assumes no responsibility for billing errors due to reliance on the CPT codes we provide your office. It is your responsibility to verify the accuracy of the codes provided and to assign values to each code based on the guidelines of your facility.

Professional Courtesty Testing

Federal and state regulations prohibit offering “professional courtesy testing”; therefore, we cannot honor requests for this service.
